Instantly calculate your Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) score for NSmen & NSFs. Uses official SAF scoring tables — push-ups, sit-ups & 2.4km run. Check your award level and cash incentive in seconds.
Singapore NSmen earn cash incentives based on their total IPPT score. The higher you score, the more you earn. Here are all official SAF IPPT award categories.
The Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) is a three-station physical fitness assessment administered by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF) annually for all NSmen and NSFs.
Reference the official IPPT score chart for each station. These IPPT chart values are based on the latest SAF/MINDEF standards. Points vary by age group — use these tables to plan your IPPT training goals.

Evidence-based strategies to improve your IPPT score across all three stations. Whether you're targeting Pass, Silver, or IPPT Gold — these tips will accelerate your progress.
The Individual Physical Proficiency Test (IPPT) is a mandatory annual fitness assessment administered by the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF), and Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF). It is compulsory for all male Singapore Citizens and second-generation Permanent Residents serving in the Operationally Ready National Service (ORNS), typically from age 18 to 50 years old.
Introduced in its current three-station format in 2015, the IPPT replaced the previous five-event test to better reflect real-world physical readiness. The revamped IPPT scoring system focuses on core strength, muscular endurance, and cardiovascular fitness — the three pillars of operational military fitness.
Your total IPPT score is the sum of points from all three stations: push-ups (max 25 pts), sit-ups (max 25 pts), and the 2.4km run (max 50 pts). The maximum possible IPPT score is 100 points. All three station scores are age-adjusted across 14 IPPT age groups, ensuring fair comparison across NSmen of different generations.
To pass the IPPT, NSmen must achieve a minimum of 51 points out of 100 AND score at least 1 valid point in each station. Failing to score even a single point in push-ups or sit-ups results in automatic overall IPPT failure, regardless of your total score.
The IPPT Gold standard requires 75 or more points and earns a SGD $500 cash incentive. IPPT Silver (61–74 points) earns $300. Achieving a Pass with Incentive (51–60 points for NSFs) earns $200. NSmen who fail (below 51 points) must attend 10 sessions of mandatory NS Fitness Improvement Training (FIT) / Remedial Training (RT) in their next IPPT window.
Both NSmen (Operationally Ready National Servicemen) and NSFs (Full-Time National Servicemen) take the IPPT using the same scoring tables. NSFs are typically in the under-22 or 22–24 age bracket. The IPPT must be completed once per 12-month training cycle. IPPT sessions can be booked via the NS Portal or taken during In-Camp Training (ICT) at any Fitness Conditioning Centre (FCC) across Singapore.
The IPPT scoring system is built on the NAPFA (National Physical Fitness Award) framework first introduced in 1982. It uses 14 distinct age bands from under-22 to 58–60 years. Older age groups have progressively more lenient requirements — for example, a male in the 22–24 age group needs 60 push-ups for maximum points, while a male in the 40–42 group needs fewer reps to achieve the same score. This age-adjusted IPPT chart ensures fair assessment throughout an NSman's NS career.
Female SAF regulars and volunteers take the IPPT using gender-adjusted scoring tables based on NAPFA standards. Female NSmen have different push-up, sit-up, and 2.4km run requirements. For instance, approximately 20 push-ups earns 25 points for a female in the 22–24 age group, compared to higher counts for males. The total maximum score and passing thresholds remain identical at 100 points and 51 points respectively.
